Fairfield County Invisalign ® - The Fast Track to Straight Teeth

Fairfield County orthodontics dentists Dr.'s Miller and Korecki are your choice for straighter teeth the easy way. They are proud to offer Invisalign ®, the invisible way to straighten your teeth.

Your visits to Cosmetic and Reconstructive Dentistry are usually shorter than with typical dental braces, because there are no wires to tighten or break. You just wear a succession of custom-made clear braces, or aligners, for a specific time period.

Each new aligner is designed to gently move your teeth into the proper position, little by little. It won't take long until you have the dazzling smile you've always dreamed of!

To find out if you're a candidate for these great invisible braces, make an appointment by calling our friendly staff at (203) 255-6878 or by completing our easy online form. Everyone on our team is committed to providing you with quality, affordable dental care and we'll be happy to explain all the financial options available to help cover Invisalign cost!

How Does Toothpaste Work?

Tetrasodium pyrophosphate (TSPP) in toothpaste removes calcium and magnesium from the saliva so they can't form tartar on your teeth. Some toothpastes contain potassium nitrate to build protection against the pain of sensitive teeth. Baking soda adds foam and scouring ability and can fight acid-loving bacteria.

Peroxide toothpastes not only lighten the teeth but also kill germs. Finally, sweeteners and flavorings are added to mask the taste so that you'll use it. Call Cosmetic and Reconstructive Dentistry at (855) 888-0439 and we’ll be happy to recommend a toothpaste that’s right for you.

Choosing the Right Toothpaste

Overwhelmed by your choices? Here's how to choose the right toothpaste for you. While your toothbrush does most of the plaque removal, abrasive agents in toothpaste will scour food particles and plaque from your teeth. Fluoride is the best-known toothpaste ingredient, added to make the outer tooth structure more decay-resistant.

Laurel sulfates, the most common surfactants, can dissolve plaque and fight bacteria. They also provide a foam that helps to carry away debris. Still not sure? Ask Dr. Miller for a recommendation by calling our office at (855) 888-0439.

Soft Drinks Can Be Hard on Teeth!

From a dental point of view, there's nothing soft about so-called soft drinks. Sugar does not directly damage teeth. That happens when certain bacteria in the mouth release acids that eat into tooth enamel. These bacteria, however, need food to survive and refined sugar is a very potent source. What you eat, they eat. If not eliminated promptly, they hang around to do their dirty work.

The real culprit in carbonated soft drinks, however, is the fizz itself: carbonic acid. A sugary, un-carbonated drink like Kool-Aid is actually easier on teeth than, say, Diet Pepsi. So watch your consumption of soft drinks and be sure to contact Cosmetic and Reconstructive Dentistry at (855) 888-0439 to schedule a dental checkup.
